[15-Nov-2010] Update: This image was selected to represent the amazing panoramic canvas sold byArtistic Photo Canvas on Scott Kelby’s Holiday Gear Guide for 2010!

Wednesday night I went out chasing a sunset view of Seattle to recreate a panoramic image of Seattle I captured (view the image here) at the end of summer last year.

Conditions were perfect. I had a my new SLR, my wide-angle lens, and a mind full of ideas of what I was looking for. This time the city skyline was getting the HDR treatment.

My image from last year I had printed on canvas 6 feet wide by the very good folks over at APC. I may just have to give this one the same treatment. I couldn’t be happier with how it came out.

A high-res version of this image is available in my portfolio.

There’s no reason not to return to a previous location to shoot looking to recreate any image you’ve already captured. Everything bar the location will almost certainly be different and as such, a different (and possibly great) image will result.

Now go get back out there!

  1. Epic shot, mate. I’ve often found some luck (thankfully) whenever I get the opportunity to return to a scene that I’ve already shot. Expectations are more in check and you have the luxury of concentrating more without the distraction of being in ‘a new scene’.

You did a bang up job here. One of my favorite shots of yours.

  2. Thanks Brian!

  3. Editor’s daily pic at hdrspotting.com, nice one… a stunning picture!

  4. Yeah! Thanks David :)
