It’s a great honour to post my first collaboration with Bob Lussier, hot on the heels of my first post from this past weekend’s shoot at the Lawrence Mills. Earlier in the day, Bob and I coincidentally photographed the same scene from different angles with different lenses and we both turned to each other and thought the exact same thing… and here we are today with this blog post. This won’t be the last collab’ from this shoot and although this image wasn’t the image from that “a-ha moment”, it’s a pretty awesome first start, especially if you lay your eyes on Bob’s pretty incredible version of this scene. Without further a due. here’s my version above.
The one thing I really love about these kinds of posts is, other than the opportunity to work with a photographer whose work so often inspires me , that it shows that no matter what the scene you’re photographing, your image is exactly that. Your Image. Even if someone else is standing in the exact same room shooting the same scene, your creative eye and post-processing set you apart. Both Bob and I have very different image of this chair in the Stone Mill supervisor’s office, even though it’s the very same scene. Our photographic styles still shine through.
I do have to admit, there’s a secondary motive to today’s post… and that’s for Bob and I to give a collective shout-out to Jacques Gudé, a very talented photographer whose UrbEx work is nothing short of magnificent. You don’t have to look too far to see Jacques images of olden-day chairs in windows, that served as both mine and Bob’s inspiration for the collaboration today. Cheers to the fotofreq!

Well done! Great post and great image. I absolutely love the composition on this. The low angle is great. Love the grungy feel as well. Between yesterday and today’s posts, it looks like you’ve mastered my mill! Cheers!

I love the way multiple photographers can take the same scene and interpret it in totally different ways. I love both your images, Jacob and Bob – thanks!
Love both versions…yours and Bobs. So much fun seeing two different take and styles on the same subject.
Kudos.
