Sunset At Tipsoo Lake

I took this photograph this September as kind of a last hurrah for the Summertime shooting in Mt. Rainier National Park. I made my way towards Tipsoo Lake, and scouted around to find what I thought would be the best place to shoot sunset. I found this little cutaway into the lake formed by the shore, set up my tripod and waited for the light.

This was an interesting image to process because it was the first result of a collaborative processing project in a Google+ hangout. From start to finish, every piece of this image was processed based entirely on the input and suggestion of others. I’ll never cease to be amazed by the collective creativity of a group of people — some of the ideas in this photo I may never have even thought of and I owe that to everyone in that hangout.

That is beautiful. Looks like it was a very rewarding collaboration.

  4. That’s an exceptional viewpoint you found. The curve of the cutaway follows the rise and fall of the trees to perfection.

  5. Stunning image dude, I’m really hoping to get out to that area next year!

  6. Gorgeous. Take me there.
