Vista House is one of the most iconic buildings in northern Oregon. Sitting atop a giant cliff, it overlooks the Columbia River Gorge and the southern edge of Washington state. Last month when I visited the area with Michael Riffle, we made a trip up to Vista House late at night to photograph the building.
There were a few stars out despite the full moon saturating the night sky with bright light. The fun side effect of this was the building was wonderfully lit underneath the blue night sky. There were more than a couple of people up there that night, so I set up my camera square on with the trees in the background, and waiting for a couple of cars to come driving around.
