The blue mountains was a wonderful part of Australia to visit and experience. I'd never really spent a lot of time (prior to this trip) in any wooded areas of Australia. Walking around this part of the country did feel a little like the forest areas of Washington, in that it was nice to be around the trees and feeling completely enveloped by them as you walked around. However, there was definitely an Australian feel to the area because of these beautiful white bark gum trees, and the smell of eucalyptus in the air.
Atop of the lookout at The Three Sisters, there's a vast panoramic view of the valley below, looking out & down into the forest. Along the cliff edges of the valley, you get a great look at how these gum trees peek up into the canopy of the woods, and out into view. They're wonderful to look at, and draw inspiration from.
