A Morning In Port Ludlow
Last week I got to spend a few days in Port Ludlow, a small town on the eastern edge of Washington's Olympic Peninsula. It was my first visit to the town, despite having passed by it so many times on previous visits to the area. One morning (and in fact, the only morning I was able to photograph) I woke up early to watch the sun rise over the small marina in the town.
Earlier in the visit, the area had been bustling with people. It was such a wonderful contrast to wake and have the entire area to myself. I could hear the water lapping against the shore. I could hear the sounds of birds flying overhead. Other than that, there wasn't a lot else to hear. It was peaceful, quiet, and supremely beautiful to watch the sun come up and turn the marina into a beautiful array of blue and pink colours.
